If you decide to start counselling, we begin with an initial discussion which is an opportunity to discuss why you need counselling. At this point I will explain how counselling works and answer any questions you may have.
If you decide to go ahead then I hope that we can meet on a weekly basis, as this is the most effective way to make progress. You can also choose when to stop counselling or take a break in the process although it is suggested that six sessions is a good start.
I am a qualified counsellor, registered with COSCA, (The governing body for Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland). Clients are treated with full confidentiality; who you are, what we discuss and all personal details are confidential.
I am a person-centered counsellor which means I will listen and discuss with you, but I do not give advice. If I can help, I will do so by us working together: If I can't then I can suggest other people or techniques that may be beneficial.
